Healthcare stalls

The US Senate will not get a version of the healthcare reform
legislation completed before the August break. And that us probably a
great thing, to have a delay to let everyone get a better sense of
this critical debate. The link to the full article is here:

In fact, it is incumbant on the republicans to take this time to come
back to the table with a credible alternative: not a legislative straw
man that has no prayer of being adopted in any form, but ways to meet
in the middle.

The dems need to settle on a version they can come together around,
and to do so in a way that does not become a fiscal liability down the
road.

Healthcare costs are hurting us, financially, and should not be seen
as an "opportunity" to Break Baraks Back, politically. Nor should it
be rammed down anyone's throat. There is a middle ground.

So that the Senate didn't get their bill through by the August recess
is a good thing. This problem is so big and so important that we have
to make sure it is done right.
