Make a Plan For Running

Just did 3 miles this morning, just to keep myself up to speed (pun almost entirely unintended) for the September race in Washington DC.

I used to enter a race once per year, but then I would be a slug for half the year. So I’m going to plan a run 2 times, 6 months apart. That way, all the fitness momentum built up for one event can keep going into the next event.

This is a much better structure.

So think about doing this for yourself. Choose 2 races or events, 6 months apart. This will give you a goal to work toward, without jamming in so many events that it’s gets overwhelming and you just can’t make it happen.
