Got Health Erosion?

Everyone does. Health Erosion is that tendency in any member population to undergo the predictable slide from low risk to medium risk, or from medium risk to high risk each year.

What We Say:

Preventing health erosion is a primary benefit of proactive programs. It keeps the healthy people healthy!

What Employers Hear:

Yes, but unless you know which members will move into a higher risk category, you have no idea

  • whether
  • by how much, or
  • in what way

your proactive program did anything at all.

To reduce that uncertainty, it’s important to have a quantitative metric for emerging risk. This “mover” index shows exactly those in a given population who are the most likely to transition between risk categories over the upcoming months.

Importantly, a rolling average of repeated measurements can show trends over time, and can also anticipate changes.

Once you have that, then you just do the math.

Correlate each member’s mover index with the programs they engage with to show which proactive programs reduce health erosion across risk categories.

With these numbers, you give clients a rational basis for choosing proactive programs. Without them, it’s no surprise when they don’t.
