This can be the perfect dessert to end a special meal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>You\u2019ll Need<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><u>For the Pastry<\/u><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 1 \u00bd cups flour<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 4 egg yolks<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00bd teaspoon salt<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00bd cup sugar<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00bc pound butter<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><u>For the Filling<\/u><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00bc pound butter<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 1 cup chopped almonds<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00be cup ground almonds<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 2\/3 cup sugar<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 3 eggs<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00bc cup cornstarch<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 \u00bd teaspoon baking powder<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 A pinch of salt<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><b>Directions:<\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><b>For the Pastry<\/b>\u00b7 Combine pastry ingredients by hand or in a food processor to form a soft dough. Do not overmix.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Chill for 30 minutes.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Roll out and line an 11-or-12-inch pie or tart pan.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Prick the base and chill for 15-to-20 minutes.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Preheat oven to 375F.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><b>For the Filling<\/b>\u00b7 Heat 1\/3 of the butter in a saute pan, add the chopped almonds and saute over medium heat until browned.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Cool.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Melt the remaining butter in a small saucepan.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Cool.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Mix the ground almonds and sugar in a bowl and add the eggs one by one, beating after each addition until the mixture is light and thick.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Sift the corn starch with the baking powder and salt and fold into the almond mixture.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Fold in the melted butter.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Do not overmix.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Pour the mixture into the tart shell and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the batter begins to set.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Quickly scatter the chopped almonds over the top in one even layer.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">\u00b7 Return the tart to the oven and continue baking for 17-to-20 minutes or until the pastry is brown and the filling is firm.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almonds are awesome!
