This is a quick, nutritious and delicious appetizer or side salad to make.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll Need<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 fresh tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>5 shallots, coarsely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup balsamic vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 loaf French bread, for dipping (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Core and slice the tomatoes, and arrange them in a serving dish.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle the shallots over the tomatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Whisk the olive oil and balsamic vinegar together with a fork, then pour over the tomatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Let stand for 5 minutes before serving, or refrigerate, covered, for up to 3 days.<\/li>\n<li>Eat with French bread, and dip the bread in the marinade when finished with the tomatoes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s men&#8217;s health month.
