Though they\u2019ll certainly look different from what you\u2019re used to, the flavor is great and they\u2019re easier and less labor-intensive to make. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll Need <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup firmly packed brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon put vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>2 cups all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1 cup semisweet chocolate chips<\/li>\n<li>1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grease the slow cooker insert with butter or vegetable oil.<\/p>\n<p>Cut a piece of waxed paper to fit the bottom and grease the waxed paper.<\/p>\n<p>In a bowl, beat the butter, eggs, sugars, and vanilla together until light and fluffy.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate bowl, stir the flour, baking soda, and salt together.<\/p>\n<p>Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts until well blended.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon the dough evenly into the slow cooker and smooth the top.<\/p>\n<p>Cover and cook on low for about 3 hours, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.<\/p>\n<p>Set the lid slightly ajar for the last 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Turn off the heat and remove the insert from the slow cooker.<\/p>\n<p>Allow to cool in the insert for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Invert onto a wire rack.<\/p>\n<p>Cut the cake in half lengthwise, then cut each piece crosswise into slices.<\/p>\n<p>Serve warm or a room temperature.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe is from the book we are giving out as a prize for submitting recipes!
