{"id":363,"date":"2009-02-02T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-02T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.willclower.com\/blog\/2009\/02\/02\/chicken-corn-and-tomato-chowder\/"},"modified":"2017-02-02T12:26:15","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T17:26:15","slug":"chicken-corn-and-tomato-chowder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mymedwellness.com\/blog\/?p=363","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Corn and Tomato Chowder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll Need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>3 pounds chicken, cut up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>1 medium onion, chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>1 teaspoon poultry seasoning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>16 ounce can corn (reserve liquid)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>16 ounce can whole tomatoes drained and cut up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>1 teaspoon lemon juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a large saucepan, simmer the chicken in 4 cups or water with onion and poultry seasoning for 45 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove chicken and let cool; reserve the broth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Skim fat from chicken broth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove meat from chicken; discard skin and bones.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cut meat into bite-size pieces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a large non-aluminum saucepan, combine chicken, chicken broth, corn, tomatoes and lemon juice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Simmer for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Season with salt and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Note: This recipe is even better with fresh corn and tomatoes.
