{"id":258,"date":"2014-12-24T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-24T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.willclower.com\/blog\/2014\/12\/24\/gingerd-lemon-scones\/"},"modified":"2017-02-02T10:49:29","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T15:49:29","slug":"gingerd-lemon-scones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mymedwellness.com\/blog\/?p=258","title":{"rendered":"Ginger\u2019d Lemon Scones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Great complement for a holiday brunch.<\/i><br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n<\/i><strong>You\u2019ll Need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 C flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. cream of tartar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 C crystallized ginger, finely chopped, (found in the spice section of store)<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp grated lemon zest<\/li>\n<li>1 C buttermilk<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp water<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><br \/>\nGet the oven ready<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 350\u00b0 F.<br \/>\nAdd the dry ingredients<br \/>\nIn a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking soda and cream of tartar.<br \/>\nStir in ginger and lemon zest.<\/p>\n<p>Combine buttermilk and oil.<br \/>\nFold into dry ingredients until blended.<br \/>\nTurn the slightly sticky dough out onto a lightly floured board and form into a rectangle about \u00bd inch in thickness.<br \/>\nWith a knife, cut each triangles about 4 inches tall (or so).<br \/>\nReroll and cut the scraps, handling the dough as little as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Place scones onto a baking sheet.<br \/>\nBlend water in w egg in a bowl, and then lightly paint the tops of the scones with the glaze.<br \/>\nSprinkle scones with sugar.<br \/>\nBake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and firm to touch.<br \/>\nServe warm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Great complement for a holiday brunch.
