Because we rely on a source of knowledge that is inherently unstable: research science.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #151515;\"><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; line-height: 15px;\">Knowledge that&#8217;s&nbsp;embedded&nbsp;in the history, culture, and traditions of a people are much less likely to shift with the wind. The Mediterranean dietary habits <b style=\"font-style: italic;\">have always included normal dairy<\/b>. They didn&#8217;t have to undergo a clinical trial to figure out what this study had to do.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #151515;\"><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; line-height: 15px;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #151515;\"><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; line-height: 15px;\"><u><b>What they found<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #151515;\"><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; line-height: 15px;\">The incidence of type 2 diabetes declined significantly, linked to the consumption of whole-fat dairy. This, according to data from a large cohort study.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">Adults with the highest levels of<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">&nbsp;this fatty&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">acid had a <b><i>60% lower diabetes incidence<\/i><\/b> compared with individuals who had the lowest levels. And this was associated with a more favorable metabolic profile, investigators reported in the Dec. 21 issue of<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><em>Annals of Internal Medicine<\/em><\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">.<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">Multivariate analyses of demographic, clinical, and lifestyle factors showed that whole-fat dairy consumption had the strongest association with levels of<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\"><em>trans<\/em><\/span><span style=\"-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; color: #151515; line-height: 15px;\">-palmitoleate.
