Make sure that the yogurt that you buy specifies that it contains live cultures. Many people like its tangy flavor. Those who do not like either the flavor or the texture might want to consider adding buttermilk to smoothies with fresh fruit.<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"color: #9900cc; font-weight: normal; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0.17em; padding-top: 0.5em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Kefir<\/span><\/h3>\n<div style=\"line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.4em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/vegetarian.lovetoknow.com\/Benefits_of_Kefir\" title=\"Benefits of Kefir\">Kefir<\/a>&nbsp;is a drink made of milk fermented with kefir grains. The milk can be cow&#8217;s, goat&#8217;s, or sheep&#8217;s milk and once mixed with the grain is allowed to ferment overnight. Unlike tofu, tempeh uses whole soybeans that are allowed to ferment. A type of beneficial mold forms which binds the soy together. Tempeh can be used in many vegetarian dishes as a high quality protein and is one of the few vegetarian sources of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/vitamins.lovetoknow.com\/Vitamin_B12_Deficiency_Symptoms\">vitamin B12<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"color: #9900cc; font-weight: normal; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0.17em; padding-top: 0.5em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Miso<\/span><\/h3>\n<div style=\"line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.4em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Miso is a Japanese seasoning that is produced by fermenting various beans or grains. It is used in soups, sauces, and spreads. Miso can be characterized by many things, including the bean or grain it is made from, the flavor, or the color. Popular types of miso include:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul style=\"line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 1.5em; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.3em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;\">\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Shiromiso, also called white miso<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Kuromiso, also called black miso<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Akamiso, also called red miso<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"color: #9900cc; font-weight: normal; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0.17em; padding-top: 0.5em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Sauerkraut<\/span><\/h3>\n<div style=\"line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0.4em;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sauerkraut is fermented or pickled cabbage. It is fermented cabbage, somewhat like sauerkraut but much more pungent. It can be made a number of ways, but is normally quite spicy.
