Americans eat about 150 pounds of sugar per person per year. And 3\/4 of that metric tonnage comes from processed food products. So why in the world would we not want to decrease that obscene volume?&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">The only reason you&#8217;d want to prevent that is if you knew that letting people know what was actually in the product would decrease the chances that they&#8217;d buy your product. The only reason you&#8217;d NOT want to label is because you wanted to limit the crazy amounts of sugar people are eating.&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">There are a couple of ways to decrease that massive amount of sugar in our food products. The first is a top-down strategy, and the other is a bottom up strategy. In the first case (top down), you can go all Michael Bloomberg on it, make it a mandate from above and write a law. But until that happens, the bottom up strategy may be better.&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Demand drives supply. Say you want it &#8230; or say you don&#8217;t want it.
