They are super for heart health and cholesterol control.<\/em><br \/><em><\/em><br \/><strong>You\u2019ll Need<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;pound dried white kidney beans or great northern beans<\/li>\n<li>1&nbsp;pound lean stewing meat, cut in 1&#8243; cubes <\/li>\n<li>2 small zucchini (unpeeled), diced<\/li>\n<li>2 turnips, peeled and diced<\/li>\n<li>1 large potato, peeled and diced<\/li>\n<li>2 stalks celery, sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 medium onions, chopped<\/li>\n<li>28 ounce can whole tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons leaf basil<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 dash salt, or to taste<\/li>\n<li>2&nbsp;tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In a crock pot<\/strong>Completely soften beans by combining all ingredients in crock pot.<br \/>Add water to cover and mix well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turn it on<\/strong>Cover and cook on high setting for 3 hours.<br \/>Turn to low setting for 8 to 14 hours (or keep on high setting for 5 to 7 hours).<\/p>\n<p><strong>To serve<\/strong>Perfect with a dip of crusty garlic bread.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Make beans a regular part of your diet.
