In fact, its a whopper with cheese.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><b>Here&#8217;s what we hear:\u00a0<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">You need a big breakfast. In fact, as the saying goes, you should <i>&#8220;Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.&#8221;<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/willclower\" data-show-count=\"false\" data-size=\"large\">Follow @willclower<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">But no healthy culture does that. No healthy culture encourages its people &#8230;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">to eat their largest meal of the day in the morning, or<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">to eat a big breakfast at all.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: white;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">Just saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ijo\/journal\/v40\/n2\/full\/ijo2015154a.html\" target=\"_blank\">this study result<\/a>, and it confirms what you see out in the world:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif; font-size: large;\">extended morning fasting does not cause compensatory intake during an\u00a0ad libitum\u00a0lunch, nor does it increase appetite during the afternoon. Morning fasting &#8230; reduced concentrations of the appetite-stimulating hormone-acylated ghrelin during the afternoon relative to lunch consumed after breakfast.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><b>Science to English Translation:<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">If you&#8217;re not hungry in the morning, and you don&#8217;t eat, that does not make you more likely to eat more at lunch, or after lunch for that matter.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\"><b>Caveats:<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">This was one study, in an obese population. Plus, everyone is different, so y<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">our individual mileage may vary.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'arial' , 'helvetica' , sans-serif;\">\u00a0However, this study does ring true with other healthy cultures, such as in the Mediterranean region.
