This\u00a0could work well for a holiday party that you\u00a0decide to host.\u00a0This main course is presented in such a striking way too! <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">You&#8217;ll Need<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">2 acorn squash, medium<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">1 pound lean ground beef<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">1 \u00bd teaspoons salt plus additional salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00bd teaspoon cinnamon<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">2 cups apples, pared and chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">\u00bc cup raisins<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">2 Tablespoons brown sugar, packed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">2 Tablespoons butter, melted<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><strong>Directions<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Heat the oven to 400 degrees F. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Cut each of the squash in half and remove the seeds and fibers. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Place the squash, cut sides down, in an ungreased baking pan. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Then add water to the depth of 1\/4-inch and bake, uncovered, until the squash is tender, about 30 to 40 minutes. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">While the squash is baking, cook and stir the meat in a large skillet until it is brown. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Drain off the excess fat. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the 1 1\/2 teaspoons of salt as well as the cinnamon, the coarsely chopped tart apples and the raisins. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">When the squash is cooked, turn them so that the cut side is up and move them to a platter. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Drain off any remaining liquid in the pan and dry. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Scoop out the pulp from the acorn squash, making a shell that is 1\/4-inch thick all the way around. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Season the shells with salt to taste. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Mash the pulp and mix in the meat mixture. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Return to the shells, piling them full and sprinkle with 1\/2 Tablespoon of brown sugar on each. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Drizzle with the melted butter. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Bake uncovered until the apple is tender, about 20 to 30 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A great way to\u00a0take advantage of the\u00a0acorn squash that is in season.
