Give it a try on a day when you are sitting around and enjoying chatting with families and friends. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll Need <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bones from a roasted turkey<\/li>\n<li>7 cups water<\/li>\n<li>1 bay leaf<\/li>\n<li>2 stalk celery, chopped (separated)<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, quartered<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup broken noodles, 1\/2 inch pieces<\/li>\n<li>1 carrot, chopped<\/li>\n<li>3 green onions, chopped<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup grated zucchini<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried basil<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried thyme<\/li>\n<li>1 dash hot sauce<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<li>Pepper to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stock:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In stockpot or large saucepan, combine bones, water, bay leaf, one of the chopped celery stalks, and onion.<\/li>\n<li>Skin and drippings may be included, if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Simmer, covered about 4 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Strain, reserving stock.<\/li>\n<li>Let bones cool, pick out any meat and add to the stock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Soup:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>In stockpot or saucepan, bring stock to boil; add noodles and simmer for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add celery, carrot, green onions, zucchini, basil and thyme.<\/li>\n<li>Simmer for 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in hot pepper sauce, season with salt and pepper to taste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe\u00a0takes some time but it is worth it.
