{"id":136,"date":"2019-03-19T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.willclower.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/07\/tuscany-stuffed-chicken-breast\/"},"modified":"2020-05-04T15:23:53","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T19:23:53","slug":"tuscany-stuffed-chicken-breast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mymedwellness.com\/blog\/?p=136","title":{"rendered":"Tuscany Stuffed Chicken Breast"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.willclower.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/stuffedchicken.jpg?w=735&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><em>Tender and juicy chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach that gets baked in a creamy garlic sauce.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><em>If you have any recipes that you would like to share please email them to <a href=\"mailto:nutrition@willclower.com\">nutrition@willclower.com<\/a><\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><em>Submitted by Linda at Eckert Seamans <\/em><em>Thank you Linda!<\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><strong>You&#8217;ll Need<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (about 4 ounces each)<\/li>\n<li>2 ounces fontina cheese, crumbled or sliced (you can also use fresh mozzarella cheese or any other type you like)<\/li>\n<li>2 roasted red sweet pepper halves or 1\/2 cup roasted red sweet pepper<br \/>\nhalves from a jar, drained<\/li>\n<li>6 fresh sage leaves or 1\/2 teaspoon dried sage, crushed<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth (use the wine \u2013 it\u2019s the best, especially if you pour yourself a small glass while you\u2019re cooking)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Place each chicken piece, boned side up, between 2 pieces of clear plastic wrap.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Working from the center to the edges, pound lightly with the flat side of a meat mallet to 1\/4-inch thickness.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Remove plastic wrap.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Sprinkle chicken with black pepper.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Layer cheese, roasted red sweet pepper halves, and sage in the center of each breast.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Fold in edges; roll up into a spiral, pressing the edges to seal.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Roll in flour.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">In an 8-inch skillet heat the oil over medium heat.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Cook chicken in hot oil about 5 minutes, turning to brown all sides.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Remove from skillet.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">In the same skillet bring wine or broth to boiling; reduce heat.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Simmer, uncovered, about 2 minutes or until 1\/4 cup liquid remains.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Return chicken to skillet.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Cover and simmer for 7 to 8 minutes or until chicken is tender and no longer pink.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Plate the chicken and spoon the sauce over it.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tender and juicy chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach that gets baked in a creamy garlic sauce.
