Yes, seriously. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">But this is the magic that becomes the best soup you\u2019ve ever tasted, and stew, and sauce, and [fill in the blank].<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Plus, on cold January days, filling your home with the steamy savory deliciousness will become the homey memories your family will never forget.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Let me know how you like it!\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">~Will<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"border-borderMain\/50 ring-borderMain\/50 divide-borderMain\/50 dark:divide-borderMainDark\/50 dark:ring-borderMainDark\/50 dark:border-borderMainDark\/50 bg-transparent\">\n<div class=\"mb-md\">\n<div class=\"relative default font-sans text-base text-textMain dark:text-textMainDark selection:bg-super\/50 selection:text-textMain dark:selection:bg-superDuper\/10 dark:selection:text-superDark\">\n<div class=\"min-w-0 break-words [word-break:break-word]\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"prose dark:prose-invert inline leading-normal break-words min-w-0 [word-break:break-word]\">\n<h2 class=\"mb-2 mt-6 text-lg first:mt-3\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You&#8217;ll Need:<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc pl-8\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 rotisserie chicken\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 medium carrots, cut into medium chunks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 celery stalks, cut into medium chunks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 onion, cut into medium chunks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2-ish cloves garlic, lightly smashed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">8 to 10 cups water (enough to cover the ingredients)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Optional: 1 bay leaf, 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, ginger, fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"mb-2 mt-6 text-lg first:mt-3\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">What You&#8217;ll Do:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Work The Chicken<\/strong>: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Get the rotisserie chicken, and pick the meat completely from the bones. You can normally separate the pieces into 2 baggies, which gives you great add-ins for later soups, stir fries, pastas, etc.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Next, take every bit of the skin, bones, juice, and other pieces\/parts of the chicken and plop that right into a large stockpot.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Add The Veggie Flavor:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">This is so simple. Just dump everything in the pot: carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaf, peppercorns, ginger &#8230; it all goes in. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Next, add water until it covers over the ingredients by about one inch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Make The Stock:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Simmer, and do this with a lid on for one hour to infuse the stock with all the lovely flavors. Step two is to remove the lid and simmer for 1 more hour to pull off some of the fluid and concentrate the flavors a bit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">It doesn&#8217;t need to be an aggressive boil, just a gentle simmer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Collect Your Stock<\/strong>: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">After simmering, remove the pot from heat. Use a mesh strainer to separate the stock into another pot or large bowl, discarding the solids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Allow the stock to cool and then <\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">transfer to a storage container. It can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">NOTE: there are a thousand reasons why you should make this stock all the time. First of all, it&#8217;s dirt simple to do. You can also play with the flavor profile &#8212; I add ginger because it brightens the flavor, but you can maybe toss in rosemary or more garlic, etc., as your tastes enjoy. Finally, this stock is transformative to everything from your soups and stews to any sauce you put together.
