Once you make it and taste what full-on amazing hummus tastes like, you&#8217;ll be ruined for every other grocery store version! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The other thing to note about this recipe is to 100% &#8220;play with your food&#8221;. The amount of lemon, or tahini, or spice &#8230; is totally custom to your palate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">So taste as you go and be bold with your flavor selection!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You\u2019ll Need:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u2153 cup smooth tahini*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, more to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 garlic clove<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00bd teaspoon sea salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">3+ tablespoons water<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Spicing of your choice, which could include paprika, cayenne, cumin, or other to your taste!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">What To Do<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In a high-speed blender, place the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt. Blend until very smooth, and taste for a couple of things:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Lemonyness (I typically add a bit more here for the flavor, but also because it thins out the texture as well)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Nuttiness from the tahini<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Spicing (my favorite is cumin, to get a classic middle eastern flavor in there)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Texture (thin it down with a few tablespoons of water until the texture is where you want it) <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Once you have a bead on what flavors it needs, make those corrections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Transfer to a large bowl, and enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Play With Your Food<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Serve with warm pita, cut veggies, and honestly as a based spread for almost any sandwich!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is seriously a problem with this hummus.
