It is delicious on its own, but I fully expect you to juggle the ingredients around and make this your own.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">For example, look at those vegetables in the list and decide if you want more or less of them, or maybe there&#8217;s a veg you want to add in (like when it&#8217;s asparagus season or the zucchini&#8217;s are fresh).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You may want to add chili oil up front to infuse a little heat into this dish, or replace the black pepper with Szechwan peppercorns for an entirely new and exciting flavor profile. The point is that once you have this base, you can take it anywhere you like! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">So definitely &#8220;play with your food&#8221;, and let us know what you did that works!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You\u2019ll Need<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 tbsp vegetable oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 garlic cloves, finely chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 tbsp ginger, diced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1\/2 cup onion, thinly sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00bd cup carrot, cut into thin coins<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 cups packed spinach<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 cup mushrooms, sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 cup red bell pepper, sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Sauce:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 tbsp corn starch<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 1\/2 tbsp soy sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">2 tsp Oyster Sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 tbsp Chinese Cooking Wine or Sherry<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 tsp sesame oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Several turns on a pepper grinder<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1 cup chicken stock<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Garnish Over The Top<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Finely sliced green onions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sesame seeds<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>What To Do<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><u>Ahead of time:<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cut up the veg, set aside, then make the sauce (below).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><u>Silky sauce<\/u>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Place cornstarch and soy sauce in a bowl and mix thoroughly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mix in remaining sauce ingredients until smooth, set aside.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><u>Now build your stir fry:<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Heat oil in a wok or large iron skillet over high heat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Add garlic and ginger, stir for 10 seconds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Add onion, stir for 30 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Add carrot and red bell pepper, stir for 1 minute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Add mushrooms, then stir for 2 to 3 minutes until the vegetables are almost (but not quite) cooked, then turn in the spinach until just wilted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Now add the silky sauce and toss for 1 minute until it thickens and becomes glossy, coating all the veg. Heat it through, but careful to not\u00a0 overcook so they become floppy and limp &#8211; they should be just cooked, &#8220;crisp tender&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Before serving, taste the sauce and correct.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Remove from stove and serve over rice.
