Just remember: eat one kernel at a time.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><i><br \/>\n<\/i><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><strong>You\u2019ll Need<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Enough olive oil to cover the bottom of a covered saucepan<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">About \u00bd cup popcorn kernels<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">2 tablespoons unsalted butter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">A generous sprinkle of salt<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Directions:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">In a medium-sized saucepan a<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">dd the oil until it just barely covers the entire bottom of the pan, and\u00a0then pour on the popcorn until it forms a single layer. Cover.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Heat popcorn on medium-high until the first kernels start to pop.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Shake the pan until the number of pops is less than 1 every 2 seconds.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Remove to a large serving or mixing bowl.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Melt the butter in a separate pan or microwave.As you pour the butter over the top in a thin stream, make sure the corn is evenly coated by tossing it around at the same time.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Tricks of the Trade:<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">To prevent burning the popcorn: once the corn starts popping, hold either side of the pan with pot holders and shuffle it back and forth to the rhythm of whatever song you are listening to.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">This serves a dual purpose.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">It also ensures that all the kernels sift to the bottom to be popped.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Play With Your Food!<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">The great part about melting your own butter is that you can infuse it with anything you want, to dress up your popcorn.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">Of course, plain buttered popcorn is wonderful, but you could also sizzle some minced garlic or rosemary. These are particularly wonderful because their oils seep throughout your butter \u2013 a little goes a long way \u2013 until they spread their mellowness over all the popcorn.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\">You might also try just a few crushed walnuts or almonds.
