So, what is that? Real food grew, was alive at some point, had a momma and a daddy, and probably doesn&#8217;t need a label telling you it&#8217;s okay to eat. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The key for Mediterranean Wellness is that real food is unprocessed, nutrient-dense, and free from the additives and preservatives that can harm our health. It also tastes better, is more satisfying, and can actually improve your health. Maybe this is why the longevity of people in this region is so high!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Love Your Food<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">For Mediterranean Wellness, you have to love your food. If you do, you will eat a lower quantity of higher quality foods. Taking smaller bites at the fork allows you to taste it more. Plus, the satiety centers in your brain are delayed. So, taking your time by enjoying more controlled portions allows you to feel the fullness signals without overconsuming. That way, you taste it more, and consume it less!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Overeating can lead to weight gain, high blood pressure, and diabetes, while eating in moderation can promote satiety, improve digestion, and reduce inflammation in the body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">For activity, find the movement that you enjoy most.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Doing some activity you enjoy increases the likelihood of sticking to a regular exercise routine, which can lead to long-term health benefits. Regular physical activity can improve heart health, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote overall wellbeing. Enjoyment also increases motivation and positive feelings towards physical activity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Nurture relationships<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Social relationships play a vital role in mental health and wellbeing. Positive social connections provide a sense of belonging, support, and purpose, which can promote resilience and reduce the risk of depression and anxiety.
