This begs the questions, why is that, what are they<br \/>eating, and how are they living to get these results.<\/p>\n<p>The main three areas include Sardinia (where there is the highest<br \/>number of 100+ year old men), Ikaria Greece (where you find the<br \/>lowest rates of middle age mortality), and Okinawa Japan (where men live to about 84 and women to around 90).<\/p>\n<p>Even though these are completely different cultures with their own foods and lifestyles, some common features do exist. Let us learn from them and apply these principles for ourselves as well.<\/p>\n<p>In all these regions, exercise consists mainly of doing activities they enjoy. For nutrition, they eat real food (mostly plants) typically with a glass of wine, but without overconsumption. For stress management, they focus on comforting daily routines, having a sense of purpose, believing in something bigger than<br \/>themselves, and keeping family ties intact.<\/p>\n<p>These Blue Zones have much to teach us about their cultural habits that can be applied to our lives, to benefit our own personal health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certain areas in the world have more people who live long healthy lives than others.
