However, today \u201chealth experts\u201d have many different views; some say that you should have six meals a day, others say just one, and others say that you should have fasting days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Do Healthy People Do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In healthy cultures like those in the Mediterranean region, they have three meals a day. The key for them is the volume they are consuming at meals, provides the nutritional value as well as balances out the caloric load.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, they eat higher quality foods at a lower quantity. This allows them to have three meals a day and remain satisfied between mealtimes.<\/p>\n<p>Another important factor is that if you are not hungry in the morning and have no issues making it to mid-day without having to snack, then do not feel like you absolutely must have three meals. There is nothing magical about that number.
