And a subgroup analysis of eight studies found that adding music to existing treatment had a significant improvement on mental health versus receiving treatment without music.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed embed-editorial-links embed-left\" data-align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"body-text\">One reason for this may come from the impact music has on your stress response, and also the release of dopamine, which is the body\u2019s natural reward chemical. And, we have all known times when music might make a boring walk more exciting, a stressful morning more mellow, or make a hard situation just a bit easier.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed embed-pullquote embed-pullquote-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">\n<div class=\"embed-inner\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"body-text\">Exercising to music is a great for your workout as well. Recent <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31804098\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31804098\/\">studies<\/a> have found people get more out of their workout when also listening to music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text\">So the next time you\u2019re feeling down, try queuing up your favorite song.
